“Karma”

Karma comes hither.

Judge us on our acts, you’ll see.

Thus, reaping our sow.

Inspired by a dream I had years ago and the storybook “Journey to the Underworld”.

In my dream, I was in heaven. I glided through the clouds with my wings, and as I gaze down,

I saw some men dressed up in ceremonial white robes waiting for an event to begin.

Serenity overwhelmed me. The Underworld, in this piece, is represented by the deep sea, where the discovery of any mythical creatures is possible. As a believer in the three realms of Heaven, Earth, and Hell, I often wonder what determines where one goes after they die.

According to the book, every soul has a “scoresheet” that records one’s doing when alive,

then he or she would receive Karma that corresponds to their doing either in the underworld or their next life.

So what is your choice?

Thank you Professor Ina Conradi Chaves for this amazing project. I was given all freedom to explore different styles of pattern making, including painting and using the illustrator., learning blending techniques, and creating shadows.
